How to instructions

    Bake a tall cake in the delicious flavour of your choice. Alternate sponge cake bases and filling. Prepare a buttercream and spread a thin layer over the entire cake.

    Roll out white sugarpaste thinly, and use it to cover the cake. Place the cover over the cake, gently pull out the sugarpaste and smooth it with your hands. Use a smoother to produce a smooth finish and nice edges. Then carefully cut off the excess all around the cake.

    Make a long log out of yellow sugarpaste and twist it into a horn.

    Mix gold powder with clear alcohol and brush onto the horn. You can also just brush on gold powder, but it will not provide as much coverage. Poke a straw into the middle of the cake and place the horn on top.

    Make the eyes, ears and cheeks, and glue everything on with edible glue.

    Dye buttercream with gel food colouring and pipe on a mane.

Bake an absolutely magical unicorn cake with an incredible golden horn and a rainbow-coloured mane. A cake shaped like a unicorn is guaranteed to be a party highlight. When working with sugarpaste, it can be helpful to sprinkle the table with a little potato flour first to prevent sticking. Decorate your unicorn with colourful buttercream piped on with a piping bag and different tips.
