Roll out a lump of air-dry clay. Make it pointed at one end and blunt at the other.
Flatten the middle of the roll and model the blunt end into a snails head, raising it up.
Insert two short lengths of pipe cleaner or toothpicks at the top of the head as feelers.
Finally, glue a chestnut to the middle of the roll for the snail shell.
Celebrate nature's own treasures and get crafting with kids! Autumn chestnuts, for example, are ideal for making cute snails. The air-dry clay is self-hardening.
