Cut a 60 cm length of nylon cord. Carefully flame the ends and roll them between your fingers to make them pointed.
Start by threading the cord folded double into one end of the click clasp, draw the ends through the cord loop and tug to secure. Next, thread the ends through the other side of the click clasp and secure with a safety pin. Cut two 150 cm lengths and knot them together. Secure them to the cords next to the clasp nearest the safety pin, ensuring you have two equal lengths on either side.
Now to make your first macrame knot: Pass the left-hand cord over the cords in the click clasp and under the right-hand cord. Pull the right-hand cord under the click clasp-s cords and up through the loop on the left-hand side. Push up the knot and tug.
Macrame knot two: Pass the right-hand cord over the cords in the click clasp and under the left-hand cord. Pull the left-hand cord under the click clasp-s cords and up through the loop on the right-hand side. Push up the knot and tug.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach the other part of the click clasp.
Make a trendy macrame bracelet with a handy click clasp. Watch our DIY video tutorial for a demo of how to make the knots. Remember to measure the bracelet around your wrist before starting the macrame knots to make sure it is long enough. Once your knots reach the safety pin you can remove it. Secure the knots underneath the bracelet when you are ready, by melting the ends. Take care not to burn yourself!
