Cut out football goals from the short sides of a shoebox.
If you like, spray paint the outside of the entire box.
Cut out a grass pitch from cardboard, to fit in the bottom of the box.
Paint lines on the pitch with white paint.
Make 6 holes along both long sides, all at the same height. Cut the dowels so that they are slightly longer than the box, and push them through the holes. You should be able to move the dowels back and forth on both sides.
Attach the clothes pegs to the dowels and paint them two different team colours. Add silly facial expressions.
Ready for kick-off! Do you have an old shoebox lying around and gathering dust? Perfect! You can upcycle it into a football game. It's fun to make - and fun to play with when you're done! Use little clothes pegs as players. And don't forget to paint one clothes peg as the referee, to manage things out on the pitch. We used a wooden bead as a football for our game. To play, spin the dowels to make the players kick the ball up to the other team's goal.
