Reuse old tin cans for storage; they're perfect for pencils! Add a little paint and decor and they will look fabulous. First soak in water to make it easier to remove the paper. Here's what we've done: Paint part of the can with chalkboard paint (use masking tape if you like). Let dry, then attach a decorative piece of fabric tape under the edge. Then you can write which pencils will be stored in each can (write with chalk or Chalk Marker). If you want to change the text, just wipe it off with a damp cloth and write something new (sometimes Chalk Marker can be a little tough to remove).
