Cut out a piece of card to about 10.5 x 7.5 cm.
Wrap yarn about 45 times around the top of the piece of card.
Stuff a piece of yarn into one end and tie to secure it in place. Then lift the yarn off the card.
Wrap yarn 3-5 times about 2 cm down from one end. Tie a double knot and trim the ends. This is the elfs neck.
Wrap yarn about 35 times width-wise around the card. Lift the yarn off the card. Wrap yarn about 1 cm from the ends on both sides. These are the elfs arms.
Thread the arms between the yarn strands of the body, under the knot for the neck.
Wrap yarn about 3-5 times under the arms to make a waist. If you want to make a skirt, youre done now.
Make legs by splitting the yarn in half and wrapping yarn about 1 cm from the ends. Cut open the loops to make fringed feet.
Roll a piece of felt into a cone and glue together. Then attach it to the elfs head.
Deck the halls with your own hand-made yarn elves! For this craft, you will need: yarn, felt and a sheet of card. Be patient and follow the instructions carefully. Hang the elves up in the tree or around your home, or glue them to your Christmas gifts. It's best to use a hot glue gun to make this craft.
