Make an Advent candle holder with holiday figures

How to instructions

  • 1

Use a leftover wooden board as a base. Sand the edges of the board a bit to get rid of any sharp splinters.

  • 2

Measure and mark 7 cm between each candle case. Screw the candle cases in place.

  • 3

Paint the wooden figures with matt craft paint. It can look nice to leave some areas unpainted, such as an elf’s face. Tip: Sketch the details in pencil before you start painting. Then let the figures dry.

  • 4

Arrange the figures on the board and glue them in place, if you like.

  • 5

Roll up the beeswax candles using green beeswax. You will need two beeswax sheets for four candles. Split the sheets in half diagonally and place the wicks along the long side. Fold one edge over the wick, and then carefully but firmly roll the beeswax sheet into a candle.

Can’t wait to light the first candle of Advent? Get ready for Advent with a unique, playful wooden candle holder that you make yourself. Then you can decorate it with adorable little wooden figures, hand-painted with craft paint. The beautiful wax candles are rolled together using green beeswax sheets.

Remember to blow out candles when you leave the room.
