How to instructions

  • 1

Connect 4 pegboards into one large square pegboard.

  • 2

Arrange beads to make a game board for a Ludo-style game: 4 large rings in different colours for the four sections of the board, and a cross with 3 smaller rings width-wise and 11 length-wise for the actual play area. Arrange the beads according to the picture. If you like, make shadows in a darker colour on one side of all the rings. Cover the area surrounding the play area with white beads and a grey frame.

  • 3

Lay a piece of ironing paper on top of the beads and iron the game board together. Flip the game board over and iron on the other side with ironing paper in between, so that the board is thoroughly stuck together. Let the game board cool under a weight. For example, you can place a heavy book on top of the beads.

Download the instructions below and arrange the beads for the die numbers according to the template. Iron the beads, let cool under a weight, and assemble to make a die.

  • 5

Paint 4 game pieces for each player in colours matching the four sections of the board.

Who doesn’t love playing games? And what could be more fun than making your own game board, die and pieces? Using Hama beads, you can decide exactly what colours you want to use for your game. Then match the different board sections with pieces in the same colour. Download the template for the die below.
