Make your own soap scrub

How to instructions

  • 1

    Crochet an exfoliating soap bag out of jute twine. See the crochet pattern below.

  • 2

    Melt the soap base according to the instructions on the package.

  • 3

    Mix pigment and fragrance into the soap base if you like. Keep in mind that both the soap pigment and fragrance are very intense, so always begin with a single drop and stir. Add more drops as you go for a stronger hue and fragrance.

  • 4

    Pour the soap base into a soap mould. Here, we reused the bottom of a cut-off milk container as a soap mould. Place a sheet of baking paper in the bottom to make it even.

  • 5

    Add some dried lavender, if you like. Then let the soap set completely and press it out of the cardboard or mould.

  • 6

    Place a soap in your crocheted twine bag and your exfoliating soap is ready to be used!

Turn your bathroom into a spa with handmade soaps! For the shower, you can make scented exfoliating soaps. Simply crochet a soap bag out of jute twine, which you can use to exfoliate.

How to crochet a soap bag:

Crochet 9 ch with crochet hook no. 5.
Begin crocheting 2 st from the hook, *2 dc, 1 dc in the next 6 st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st*, repeat *-* x1 on the opposite side. You have now crocheted one round.
Continue crocheting around all st. Crochet *2 tr in the next st, 1 tr in the next 10 st*, repeat *-* x1, 1 tr. You now have 25 st in one round.
Crochet 6 rounds with 25 tr.
Cut off and secure the twine.

Crochet 60 cm of ch to make a string. Thread the twine through the top row of tr. Place a soap in the bag and tie a loop in the twine.

st = stitch
ch = chain stitch
dc = double crochet
