Paint your own patterns

Make your own patterns from self-adhesive plastic wrap. Draw a design (i.e., a heart) on the back, cut it out and attach the plastic wrap to the garment. Colour the "hole"; it is so easy that even children can do it. We've made dots in various colours; neon colours are especially fun. Use the thin black fabric pen to make outlines, if desired. Naturally, you can also draw freehand with the fabric pens if you like.
