On 2 lolly sticks, draw 5 little dashes at even intervals.
Split 5 plant stakes in half and glue them to one of the lolly sticks, lining them up with the dashes. Glue another lolly stick (without dashes) on top, with the stakes in between. Let the glue dry.
String 10 beads in different colours onto each stake.
Glue the plant stakes to the dashes on the other lolly stick. Then glue another lolly stick on top.
Break a lolly stick in half and glue to the back of the abacus to make a stand.
Combine crafting, playing and learning! An abacus makes it even more fun for kids to learn to count! You and your child can make this classic abacus together. An abacus is a counting tool with which you count and move one bead at a time to the other side. This way, your child can learn maths and colours at the same time.
