Reuse old furniture and flea market finds; fix up and repaint! Remember that thorough groundwork gives the best results. Scrape off old paint, wash, sand down and apply shellac and primer if needed; then you can start painting. For best results, apply several thin layers of paint rather than one thick layer. Let dry 15 hours between each layer. Paint in the same direction as the wood grain. For colours like yellow, orange and red, use a white primer. Paint reaches full hardness after 3-4 weeks.
