Transform an ordinary wooden stool into a trendy piece of furniture! STAIN: Start by sanding the surface until smooth. Sand off any glue residue from assembly (otherwise the stain will not adhere). Use a thick brush and apply the stain in the direction of the wood grain. Apply liberally. Let dry for 6-8 hours and then apply a clear varnish for stain. SEW THE CUSHION: Draw the circumference of the seat on foam rubber and cut out. Cut two pieces of fabric to the same dimensions as the foam rubber and one strip/side piece in velvet fabric with a height and circumference that can fit around the cushion. Add 1 cm seam allowance to all fabric pieces. Sew the side piece, right side facing right side, to one piece of fabric. Then sew the other piece of fabric, right side facing right side, but leave a 20 cm long opening. Turn the case, stuff with the foam rubber and sew up by hand. Sew one stitch with yarn through the cushion; if you like, decorate with a narrow piece of leather. Cut the leather to the desired width and the circumference of the legs plus 1 cm. Nail the leather to the stool legs with a special tacks.
