Tie-dye with the kids

How to instructions

  • 1

The clothes should be washed at least once and damp before you begin, so that the paint can properly adhere.

  • 2

Protect your table with plastic and wear gloves.

  • 3

Roll, twist or fold the fabric however you like and then wrap rubber bands around the fabric bundle a few centimetres apart.

  • 4

Drip, spatter or brush paint here and there on the garment. Because the fabric is damp, the paint will spread and colours applied near one another may flow together and create new shades.

  • 5

Cover the garment with plastic and let dry for 24 hours. Then remove the rubber bands.

  • 6

Rinse the garment, then wash in the washing machine at 30°C and iron inside out. Wash the clothes separately the first few times after painting or dyeing.

Say goodbye to the kids’ worn-out and washed-out clothes, and hello to a new colourful wardrobe! With our tie-dye junior kit for ages 8 and up, the kids can dye their clothes. We recommend having an adult help. Fabric paint can be used to dye light cotton textiles. Follow the different techniques in the instructions to create cool effects on everything from hoodies to socks.
