Tie-dyed napkins

Tie-dyed napkins

How to instructions

  • 1

Cover your table with plastic sheeting and wear gloves.

  • 2

Launder the cotton napkins before you begin.

  • 3

    Moisten the cotton napkins.

  • 4

Shape each napkin into a sausage by scrunching it together along one side. Wrap with rubber bands at about 5 cm intervals.

  • 5

Drip paint on the napkins with a pipette and squeeze the fabric so that the paint spreads throughout the bundle.

  • 6

Leave the paint on the napkins for about 5-20 minutes, and then rinse. Allow to dry.

  • 7

Fix the paint in the oven at 150°C for 5 minutes. You can also iron on the cotton setting for 5 minutes from the back.

  • 8

Iron the napkins to get rid of any wrinkles and fold twice. Roll up the cutlery in the napkins and tie with a beautiful piece of twine. Then decorate with a twine tassel.

Lay the table for a party with beautiful watercolour napkins! Tie-dying will give your napkins the lovely look of a watercolour - a gorgeous detail at a confirmation, wedding or another celebration. The longer you let the fabric soak, the more intense the colour will be. The colour will be most vibrant if you don't rinse the fabric at all. Roll up cutlery in the napkins and tie with a piece of twine. Decorate the knot with a tassel. Tie-dyed napkins are washable at 40°C. Wash separately the first couple of times.
