Pour watercolour paint on a plastic palette and blend with water until liquid.
Cut a piece of string (60-70 cm) and dip it in the paint. Run the string gently between your fingers to remove any excess paint.
Drape the string across the paper, leaving a bit of it outside the pad to hold onto. Close the pad.
Place a book on top as a weight and pull out the string.
