Cut 65 pieces of white yarn, approximately 50-70 cm long. (The longest threads in the middle are 70 cm and then they get smaller and smaller.)
Cut 21 pieces of brown yarn, 70 cm long.
Begin by tying the brown pieces in the middle of the ring with the knot shown in the description (download below). Tie on all of the threads from the top, down. Tighten the knots well, both up and down.
Tie on the white pieces of yarn the same way as the brown ones, but weave a pattern through the brown pieces of yarn by occasionally weaving the yarn under and occasionally over the brown threads. Tie the white pieces of yarn from the left side of the brown threads over to the right side of the brown threads. Begin by tying from the top and working your way down. Tighten and secure the threads well on both sides with the knot shown in the description.
Check that all of the threads are securely tightened with a good knot. Then place a dab of glue on the back of the knots so that they do not come undone.
Comb out the ends and cut them down to about 2 cm long all the way around the ring.
A beautiful wall tapestry can truly take an entire room to the next level! Using thick yarn and a metal ring, you can make your own round wall decoration with beautiful woven decor. Tie on the threads one by one with a simple macramé knot while weaving in a pattern where the threads meet. It is meditative to make, and wonderful to enjoy later when it decorates your home.
