Specially treated sketchbooks with coloured pages, make sense? If not: the paper in these drawing and sketchbooks has been treated with a substance that results in very gentle paint and moisture absorption. This is not to be confused with glossy paper or plastic, on which the paint will just smear. In these books, you can carefully apply layer upon layer of colour with ink, markers, cartridge pens, acrylic markers and more. With a little patience, rich palettes will emerge and blend into the existing colour of the paper. It may be a somewhat specialised product, but it truly produces exciting results if you are in the mood to experiment. Please note that watercolours do not work at all on this kind of paper.
