Attach the glass eyes to your hobby horse using a glue gun.
Cut out two crescent shapes from craft felt for each eye. Pick a felt colour to match the horses coat.
Glue the crescent shapes as eyelids above and below the eyes.
Sew on the edges of the upper and lower eyelids, attaching them firmly to the horses coat.
Needle-felt a piece of wool around the eyes, to frame them nicely. Combine wool in a few different colours to create vivid results. To needle felt, poke the felting needle up and down through the wool, into the horses stuffing, which will felt the wool in place.
Attach lashes along the upper eyelids, and a sparkling decorative stone at the tear duct for the finishing touch.
Make beautifully sparkling eyes for your hobby horse! They say the eyes are the window to the soul, which is why it's worth going the extra mile to make them. And with glass eyes as a base, it's easy! Simply change the size and appearance of the lids, depending on what shape you want the eyes to be. Add needle-felted wool details at the eyelids, to frame the eyes beautifully and give them a realistic touch. Last, but not least: attach a decorative stone at the tear duct for a little extra sparkle. We recommend a glue gun for gluing, but bear in mind that the tip gets very hot.
