Make an adorable bow tie to wear to the party; the fact that it's knitted adds character. And it goes fast! METHOD: Cast 11 stitches onto 3 1/2 mm needles (or as many as you need to make a 6 cm wide piece). Work a garter stitch (only knit stitches) until the strip is 22 cm. Cast off. Sew the short ends together to make a tube. Cast on 4 st and knit a garter stitch until you have a 2x4 cm strip. Cast off. Fold the big strip so the seam is in the middle on the back. Fold in the middle to make a small pleat (if you like, sew a few stitches to secure the pleat). Wrap the narrow strip around the big one with the pleat and sew the short ends to the back of the bow tie. Attach to the shirt with a safety pin or on a ribbon with hook-and-loop at the ends, which you thread through the back of the bow tie.
