Sprinkle your work surface with icing sugar to prevent the marzipan from sticking.
Using white marzipan, roll a ball to make the mummy’s head and a cylinder for the body. Press the pieces together.
Dip a finger into a little bit of water and dab the place where the eyes will be on the head. Then press sugar eyes onto the spots where you dabbed water. Water will help the eyes adhere.
Roll out marzipan thinly and cut long, narrow strips. Wrap the strips around the mummy and secure with a bit of water, if needed.
Shape the tops of the toadstools with red marzipan and the stems with white marzipan. Press the pieces together. Then roll very small white balls, flatten them slightly, and apply them to the toadstool tops. Attach the sugar eyes with a bit of water.
Make a terrifyingly sweet still life for Halloween using marzipan or sugarpaste. Have the kids help shape balls and rolls that you can easily transform into a mummy and a group of toadstools. It would be tough to find a tastier Halloween craft!
